Four kinds of
hotel, printed
in four inks
Betexress is a small editorial index of hotels organised by the one thing that makes each of them unusual: the art they live with, the berths they are built from, the gaming floor downstairs, or the fact that the whole building melts in April. Four categories, four hotels each, described in plain prose and nothing else.
Art Hotels
Hotels that hang, commission and live with art rather than decorate around it.
Four hotels →Capsule Hotels
Hotels built out of engineered sleeping berths, where the room is a module and the rest is shared.
Four hotels →Casino Hotels
Hotels with a gaming floor as one of their facilities, read here as hotels first.
Four hotels →Ice Hotels
Hotels rebuilt from snow and river ice each winter, then returned to the water each spring.

Chosen, not ranked
Sixteen hotels, four to a category. There is no score, no star count and no best-of order. A hotel is here because its idea is legible from the doorstep, and the writing tries to say what that idea is.
Written as prose
Every entry is a paragraph, not a spec sheet. Facts are the durable kind — what the building was, how it is put together, what it sits next to. Prices, availability and seasonal hours belong to the hotel, so we leave them there.
No booking, no fee
Nothing on this site can be reserved and nothing has been paid for. There are no reviews, no ratings and no affiliate links. If a description sends you to a hotel's own site to check something, it has done its job.
